Sterna Groznjan is the inexhaustible source of water which charges six ditches in the valley. It was known as the cistern of Grožnjan throughout the history. The name Sterna is the shortened form of the tanker name, and indicates the source, the supply of natural water or artificially created. Sterna is located a few kilometers from northeast of Grožnjan, and today is a small entrepreneurial place. It changed rulers often in the past due to its fresh water supplies. At the center of this small town near Groznjan there is the Church of St. Cantius with the cemetery. Interior is decorated only by a large crucifix and a simple altar with the precious wooden altarpiece from the late 16th century. Sterna is one of the most popular places among visitors to Groznjan and do not want to miss it if you have rented accommodation in Gražnjan.
